In the fall of 2010, Pat Harrington and Chris Turco started to get together for some loose jams. Quickly they realized that they had the same musical influences and approach. Harnessing their familiar background of classic rock, hardcore and heavy metal; throw in Pat’s affinity for pre-war slide-guitar blues and Geezer was born. Once the songs started to take shape, Freddy Villano was brought in to bring the monster low-end bass that he is known for. Best described as ‘Heavy Blues’, Pat says of Geezer’s approach, “We just wanted to bring the evil back to the blues, the devil’s music! Somehow the blues got co-opted by hippies and jam bands and made it all nice and fluffy, we’re here to change that!”
"There’s an authenticity about Geezer that instantly puts them above their peers; the whiskey-soaked growl of Pat Harrington will take you down the Midwestern delta once more, while Harrington’s heartfelt, gut-level grooves are reminiscent of ZZ Top circa 1973.": Chybucca Sounds
“Smoke-tinged vocals, orange amped guitars and hard rhythms combine to form a sound like Charley Patton getting into a fist fight with Junior Kimbrough over who gets the last bottle of hooch in an old liquor store.”: Lucas Klaukien @ Stoner Hive
"Handmade Heavy Blues is a deep and heavy blues based rock. Imagine The Black Keys with a bit more evil in them, n more “Lonely Boy.” Geezer even sounds a bit like Larmon Clamor mixed with a little Five Horse Johnson. Either way you look at it, you’re getting a heavy blues album that covers it all.": Bill Goodman @ The Soda Shop
